Medela launches their new dressing kit as part of their independent NPWT strategy
MCHENRY, IL. January 11, 2016 – Medela, a global leader in vacuum technology, with a portfolio spanning from breastfeeding to medical devices, announces the decision to become a full-solution provider for NPWT with the launch of their new dressing kit.
Previously, Medela had sourced NPWT dressing kits from Mölnlycke Health Care for the U.S. and Canadian markets.
“Commercialization of a Foam Dressing Kit fulfils Medela’s NPWT strategy of offering NPWT pumps, dressings, and disposables under a single brand,” states Mitch Odahowski, VP Healthcare, Medela Inc. and adds "we are happy that Medela as a leading provider of NPWT devices will now have a comprehensive portfolio under the Invia name."
The new foam kit is manufactured using a reticulated flexible and hydrophobic foam material, allowing for efficient exudate transport. In addition, the new transparent film meets market standards for size and adhesion.
Along with a separate gauze kit option, the new foam dressing kit complements Medela`s current offering of high quality reusable and personal pumps; thus, enabling Medela to work as a full-solution provider in NPWT.
Medela continues to strengthen their commitment by providing patients and professionals with easy-to-use and reliable solutions. Swiss quality, reliability and design along with elegant simplicity remain core competencies of Medela, reflected in their new pump-to-dressing offering.
With over 50 years of leadership in medical vacuum technology, Medela has proven success in developing innovative and award winning products that deliver Swiss engineering quality and reliability. Medela concentrates on two business units: "Breastfeeding", with fundamental research that is recognized globally and leading in the development and manufacture of breastfeeding products, and "Healthcare", engineering and manufacturing highly innovative medical vacuum technology solutions.
