What is NPWT?

Your physician has prescribed you Negative Pressure Wound Therapy, this therapy creates conditions to promote wound healing. Your healthcare professional will apply a wound dressing that is attached to a suction pump.

Negative Pressure Wound Therapy works by preparing the wound bed for closure and by removing fluid and infectious material from the wound to a collection canister.Negative pressure wound therapy will be applied 24 hours a day.

Your healthcare professional will instruct you on the correct use of the pump and will change the dressing regularly.

Charge battery

asset_imageConnect the pump to electrical outlet port. Always charge battery overnight. Battery is fully charged after approximately 4 hours and battery time generally exceeds 14 hours.

ON, OFF, Standby mode

With the ON and OFF button, you completely turn the pump ON or OFF.

Standby
For a short interruption of the therapy, for instance to take a shower or to change canister, use standby mode. If he pump is in standby mode for more than 5 minutes, a warning will go off. To continue therapy press "ON".

Change canister

  1. Press for 3 seconds to place pump in standby mode.

asset_image2. Press release button on top of the pump to remove canister.

 

asset_image3. Attach new canister by positioning feet first and snapping canister to the pump.

4. Press quickly to resume therapy.

5. Discard used canister according to instructions provided by your healthcare professional.
