Pump In Style Pro/Pro+: Hospital-Grade Performance, Redesigned for Home Use

When supporting moms through the emotional and physical demands of breastfeeding, continuity of care matters. That’s why Medela redesigned Pump In Style® Pro/Pro+—to deliver the same clinically backed performance as Symphony®, the #1 hospital-grade pump used in 89% of U.S. hospitals.
Now moms can take home a pump that mirrors the experience they trust in the hospital—without sacrificing comfort, effectiveness, or control.

Clinically Validated. Patient-Approved.

Medela partnered with the University of Western Australia to evaluate Pump In Style® Pro/Pro+ suction pattern against Symphony® Maintain Mode. The study found that Pump In Style® Pro emptied the breast similarly effective & fast plus moms rated the comfort similar.

This isn’t just marketing—it’s clinical evidence. While other brands use terms like “hospital strength,” Medela is the only one backed by peer-reviewed research and trusted by clinicians nationwide.

    Symphony lovers rejoice
Although I’m a Maxflow girly (sorry I don’t get you all that hate her, I love her!) I was excited to see Medela bringing out a new pump after a lot of feedback from other moms. The number one thing they changed was the suction pattern. It aligns now closer with the Symphony. This pump is very comfortable, very small and portable and much quieter in comparison to Maxflow. They added indicator lights on the new Pro so you know exactly what level you are in.

I find this pump very comparable to the symphony. I have tried other pumps which hurt to use. The pump in style doesn’t hurt and extracts my milk efficiently. I can get 3-4oz per 20 min session! The cups are the best part, I can pump milk handsfree without buying a special bra. So convenient!

    Love Medela
As a first time mom finding the right breast pump was top on my list. I was blessed to be able to use the Symphony hospital grade breast pump and the Maxi Swing wearable. I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried the Pump In Style Pro and I was surprised with how much I would like it. It is so easy to use! If you want to travel and take an electric pump with you it’s so easy due to the size and not a bunch of parts that you need to clean. Add in the Medela quick clean wipes and you’re set! It’s louder than the Maxi Swing and Symphony but overall it is still pretty quiet. Not to mention it also matched my milk output as when I used the Symphony hospital pump. Overall, I’ve been very pleased with Medela pumps and products!

Since launching Pump In Style® with MaxFlow™, we’ve been listening to mom and HCP feedback, which have given us the insights to further improve and enhance Pump In Style® Pro/Pro+ to betterdeliver on mothers’ needs. By listening to feedback and incorporating the clinically proven pumping curve, moms can maintain a milk supply and breastfeed longer. And with the rechargeable battery inPro+ moms have more freedom to move around.

The new Pump In Style® Pro/Pro+ features our clinically proven pumping pattern, similar to Symphony®, the #1 breast pump used in hospitals worldwide:

Hospital-grade efficiency: The quick build of the vacuum promotes milk output.

Hospital-grade comfort: Optimized hold and gentle release of the nipple.

Enhanced* control & feedback: The level and mode indicators allow for precise control over your pumping sessions, letting you fine-tune comfort and efficiency.

Hospital-to-home continuity of care: The seamless transition from Symphony® in the hospital to Pump In Style® Pro/Pro+ at home with similar settings—same 16 pumping levels and Stimulation andExpression modes—ensures consistent care without any confusion. *vs previous Pump In Style®
