Medela announced the launch of a new Healthcare Professional Education Curriculum—an initiative designed to advance knowledge, strengthen clinical practice, and improve outcomes in maternities and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) worldwide.
Developed by Medela’s Global Medical Affairs team in collaboration with leading lactation experts, this education curriculum reflects our continued commitment to delivering evidence-based education that supports healthcare professionals (HCPs) in their daily work with mothers, infants, and families.
Comprehensive Curriculum Offering
At this stage, the new curriculum includes two CPD-accredited* eLearning modules, with more expected to be added in the future:
Specifically designed for nurses, midwives, and other HCPs who support breastfeeding mothers in hospital settings, the curriculum is based on scientific research and data, ensuring that the learning objectives reflect the best evidence-based practices.
These modules are intended to advance both individual learning and institutional training programs. They are grounded in the latest clinical evidence, aiming to equip HCPs with the necessary knowledge and skills to foster breastfeeding success, promote optimal infant nutrition, and achieve positive clinical outcomes.
Accessible, Flexible, and Scalable Learning
Available globally and free of charge through the company’s online education platform, Medela University, the curriculum is designed to ensure broad accessibility. All modules can be translated and integrated into various institutions' Learning Management Systems (LMS), enabling healthcare organizations to incorporate these resources into their training frameworks.
We encourage HCPs and institutions to explore these newly available resources. For any inquiries, please contact us at education@medela.com or globaleducation@medela.com.
