Zurich-based illustrator Yael Anders created this abstract sock design to represent the diversity and strength of motherhood – and to bring visibility to something too often unseen.

Her shapes celebrate breasts in all forms, transforming a practical object into a quiet yet powerful statement of self-determination, care, and the shared strength found in every motherhood journey.

Breastfeeding is more than nutrition. It’s closeness. It’s connection. It’s trust. And it improves health outcomes for both babies and mothers.

But giving every family the support they need takes more than great products – it takes strong, evidence-based knowledge.

As part of this “With You, Every Step of the Way”, Medela is committing up to CHF 20,000 to support community-based breastfeeding research – an amount equivalent to the value of the socks produced for this campaign. The goal: to enhance breastfeeding outcomes through sustainable support systems, helping reduce maternal and infant mortality and morbidity. This contribution reflects Medela’s mission to turn shared experiences into shared progress – advancing care and creating impact, one step at a time.

This research project will:

• Be reviewed by an expert jury of infant and maternal health professionals
• Prioritize proposals that deliver real-world, evidence-based interventions to strengthen breastfeeding ecosystems in diverse communities
• Reflect our belief that every step forward – no matter how small – can make a big impact
