No, Melody InBra™ is a single-user product.
Can I buy or borrow a pre-owned Melody InBra™ breast pump (because it’s closed system)?
Melody InBra™ is a single-user product. For the safety of mom and baby, do not use a borrowed or second-hand pump.
What’s the difference between the two pumping rhythms (Stimulation & Expression phase)?
Melody InBra™ breast pump includes two phases: Stimulation and Expression. The difference is: 1) Stimulation phase: The breast pump begins with a fast sucking action to stimulate your milk to flow. The device offers 9 levels, with a high stimulation frequency and gentle suction.
2) Expression phase: The breast pump begins with a slower, deeper sucking rhythm for milk expression. This phase also features 9 adjustable levels for optimized milk expression. This setup is optimized for efficient and rapid milk collection.
The pump automatically switches from Stimulation to Expression after 2 min in the Stimulation phase. To switch between the 2 phases manually, press and release the let down or mode selection button.
Is Melody InBra™ a closed-system pump?
The Melody InBra™ Breast Pump is designed with a milk barrier that is placed at the breast shield within the container to keep milk from entering the motor unit. By market definition, Melody InBra™ is a closed system breast pump.
What is the difference between Melody InBra™ and Magic InBra™ breast pump?
Both Melody InBra™ and Magic InBra™ are designed to be comfortable, discreet, and easy to use. Magic InBra™ is Medela’s flagship wearable pump, offering a premium pumping experience with advanced FluidFeel™ technology for exceptional comfort and efficiency. It also features bi-directional connectivity for smart app integration and a night mode for added convenience.
Melody InBra™, on the other hand, focuses on simplicity and value, with a slim design, ultra-soft breast shield, and durable PPSU container that’s safe for storing, freezing, and warming milk. Where can I find the vacuum range and cycles per minute information for Melody InBra™?

Vacuum range: Stimulation phase: -70 to -150 (+/-20) mmHg Expression phase: -80 to -280 (+/-20 ) mmHg

Does Melody InBra™ track volume of breast milk pumped?
Melody InBra™ currently doesn't offer this functionality, however, with the Medela Family app you can conveniently log milk volume and track your pumping progress.
If Melody InBra™ is a closed system, why can it not be used by more than one person?
A breast pump with a milk barrier is known as a closed system. The Melody InBra™ breast shield system acts as a barrier and prevents the milk overflowing and leaking into the pump mechanism, and helps ensure your expressed milk travels through a hygienic route. However, a closed system doesn't mean it is safe and hygienic for multiple users. Medela personal-use breast pumps pumps are designed as single-user products, and have not been designed to be shared between mothers.
On the other hand, multi-user pumps such as Symphony has an additional protective membrane barrier at the pump protecting milk from entering the pump system. It has been tested and validated as a multi-user pump, for long-term use. In addition, like computers or other electronic products, an electric breast pump has a limited lifetime- if mums use an electronic pump that has been used beyond its lifetime, there is no guarantee that it will generate as much speed and vacuum as it did earlier in its life.
How can I clean and dry the Melody InBra™ pump parts?

Can Melody InBra™ be used out of the country?
The Melody InBra™ breast pump can be internationally used but it must be used and stored in the environment specified in this user manual, and please make sure the input power of your power supply (not provided in the configuration) is AC 100-240V 50/60 Hz and output power is DC 5V 1A, and please make sure you have a converter to convert to the proper voltage of the target country. 1. Use the power cable that came with Melody InBra™ in conjunction with a power travel adaptor for the relevant country (available at many electronic stores). 2. Only use (or charge) the pump with original parts that came with pump even if your out of your country.
What kind of battery do I need for the pump?
You don't need to buy any battery as a rechargeable battery is built-in within the device. It is a Li-Ion battery.
What power options are available for Melody InBra™?
Melody InBra™ comes with a built-in USB-rechargeable battery.
How can I tell when my battery is drained?
Battery Icon appears on the display and here below is a simple guide to understand the battery status of the pump: When the pump is plugged into the charger:
Charging from low battery: Icon 1 keeps continuously flashing. Charging more: Icon 2 keeps continuously flashing. Charging more and more: Icon 3 keeps continuously flashing. All battery indicators blinking signify that the battery is charging.
Fully charged: Icon 3 remain steadily on.
When the pump is NOT plugged into the charger or in working mode:
Icon 3 (Color white): Battery level is sufficient to operate for approximately 150 minutes. Icon 2 (Color white): Battery level is sufficient to operate for approximately 100 minutes. Icon 1 (Color white): Battery in low level, please charge in time: 1) Battery level only for approximately 30 minutes operation with the battery icon steadily on. 2) Since the battery icon start flashing, device will automatically turn off after 5-10 minutes.
How do I charge the Melody InBra™?
1. Insert the USB end of the charging cable into the USB interface of the power supply (not provided in the configuration); 2. Insert the power asupply (not provided in the configuration) plug into the AC socket; 3. Remove the silicone plug from the charging port and Insert the Type-C end of the charging cable into the charging port. It takes approximately 150 minutes to fully charge the device. When charging is completed, unplug the power supply (not provided in the configuration) from the wall outlet and disconnect the charger cable from the power supply (not provided in the configuration). When fully charged, the Melody InBra™ pump will provide 10 sessions (approximately 150 minutes) of pumping at 15 minutes per session and per breast.
My display shows an empty, flashing battery cell.
You do not have sufficient battery to pump. Plug the pump into an external power source to charge. Charging for at least 20 mins would be sufficient for 1 pumping session.
How do I know how much battery life is left?
When the battery shows steady icon with 1 bar, it means the battery is low. You have about 30 minutes of use left. The moment the battery icon start flashing, device will automatically turn off after 5-10 minutes. Charge your breast pump in time.
Steady icon with 3 bars indicates that the battery has sufficient power. Steady icon with 2 bars indicates that the battery has moderate battery power. Steady icon with 1 bar indicates that the battery has low battery power. When the battery icon start flashing indicates that the battery is about to run out.
How long does Melody InBra™’s battery last on one charge?
Melody InBra™'s battery lasts up to 2.5h of pumping on single full charge, or up to 10 pumping sessions. Note: duration of one pumping session is on average 15 min. Therefore, With 2.5h on a single charge, it is 10 sessions.
Does Melody InBra™ work with vehicle adaptors?
The existing vehicle adaptors that Medela carries do not work with Melody InBra™. Right now we do not offer a vehicle adaptor that is compatible with Melody InBra™.
Could I buy the rechargeable battery separately?
No, it's an in-built rechargeable battery and cannot be changed or repaired.
